are maps at each road leading to every community so you know what's
available before heading in. Some of the villages are very small with
few services but there's still a map.

formations - splintered columns of volcanic rock.

Reynisfjara
black sand beach. These are sea stacks formed by volcanic activity.
There were lots of puffins on the cliffs behind us. They were little
white specks in the pics.

The entrance to the base of the Gljufrabui waterfall. The falls drop into a hollow within a rock. You can walk thru this arch along the stream (thru the stream depending on your balance). |
