Hello from 61 degrees south and almost to the Antarctic peninsula! Cold on deck 31 degrees and loopy swells which means everyone walks around with feet spread apart---the drunk walk. Tomorrow the captain says we might have snow on deck! Fun fun..color of the sea down here is different...a deeper blue I think but I'll send a pic.

There were 2 lectures today on: 1) extraordinary happenings in Antarctic---both good and bad---talked about the airlift of the MD that had breast cancer and another MD that operated on himself (!) for acute appendix and was back to work in 2 weeks; also talked about storms with 100+ mph winds that blow snow inside their huts; 2) animals of the Southern Hemisphere by the cute little bow tie guy---it was actually a primer on whales/dolphins/porpoise/seals. Saw a whale in the distance (hunchback we think) today when we were taking our walk around the promenade deck. Hope to see more of everything in the next few days. Binoculars are out!

Went also to a digital class on creating movies & slide shows on windows 8. We'll see about that one.

So bye for now from the Antarctic peninsula. Toni says go Niners! We won't get to see the games so cheer for us.
