Day 85 - Wiscasset, ME to Belfast, ME - 59 miles ......... 3981 total miles
We're here!!!! We found the Atlantic. The smiles haven't left our faces, we're not sure what we'll do tomorrow. We'd like to thank everyone for your encouragement, kind words, positive thoughts and prayers for our safety. Today was a tough day of riding, we listened to thunderstorms much of last night and wondered what the day would bring. It wasn't raining early so we decided to head off. We stopped to eat mid morning and it started pouring, then came the thunder along with lightening. We waited for the thunderstorm to pass and continued riding. The rain quickly drenched us, fortunately it wasn't cold. Somewhere along the way we met Chuck, who was riding the Atlantic coast route from Key West, FL to Bar Harbor. We kept peddling, the rain quit and we rolled into Belfast. A hot shower was first priority after checking into our motel, followed by a great dinner. The laundry is almost done now and we're relaxing, smiling and reflecting on our grand adventure. It's been an awesome ride! We're happy to be able to share it.
