Day 82 - Lincoln, NH to Fryeburg, ME - 46 miles ............ 3830 total miles
We crossed into Maine this afternoon! It's hard for us to comprehend this is our last state! We had a 13 mile climb right out of Lincoln up to Kancamagus Pass. It was our last long climb of the trip but didn't seem as steep or hard as the last 3 days. Most of the ride was thru the White Mountain National Forest, following streams up and then down. No development or services for 32 miles, lots of hiking trails, picnic spots and campgrounds. We had lunch in Conway on our way to Fryeburg where we're spending the night. Traffic is picking up at the start of the holiday weekend. We're planning an early start tomorrow morning.

We are loving the views in the morning! The Pemigewasset River
crossed the road just a few miles after we started.

One of the very few open views on our way up the Kancamagus Hwy. The trees kept us in shade, making the ride very pleasant....well as pleasant as an 8-11% uphill grade can be!

We made it! The yellow sign is warning us of a 4 mile 12% downhill....bummer JJJJJJJJJ

Another very tempting spot to take a break.
