Day 45 - Tower City, ND to Fargo, ND - 43 miles .......... 1885 total miles
Enjoyed a hearty breakfast, said goodbye to Joanne and thanked her for the wonderful North Dakota hospitality. Beautiful morning, we cruised into Fargo arriving early giving us a chance to relax and do some chores before meeting nephew Kyle and his wife Beth for dinner.

Day 46 - Fargo, ND to Park Rapids, MN -
93 miles ............ 1978 total miles
A new state today! Last night we called a local bike shop and asked for suggested routes thru Fargo & Moorhead. Got an early start and rode along sidewalks, bike paths and bike lanes. We crossed the Red River over Veterans Memorial bridge into Minnesota. What a change in both scenery and services! We left the dry prairie behind and rolled thru lush green farmland, forests and into the lake country. We probably passed more places to take a break for food and liquids today than we have the whole trip other than the big cities. Prior we didn't pass up any break opportunities, today we skipped many! Nice to have more options closer together. Great road today, good shoulders, slower traffic and a tailwind. Almost beat the storm to Park Rapids our destination for the evening. We stopped 10 miles away at a bar and bait shop for a soda. Before we could enjoy the break the skies opened up, the rain was pouring down sideways from the west. So thankful we were inside! Decided to have dinner and wait out the storm. When we were ready to ride on, road was dry, guess it steamed dry?? Had a great ride into Park Rapids.

Another state done!

Crossing over the Red River, the dividing line between North Dakota & Minnesota.
Behind this wall is a very well done tribute to our military.

What a difference a few miles make! The road into Fargo dry was farmland (no irrigation) with no trees to speak of. A few miles into Minnesota the scenery changed drastically
into wild green vegetation & lots of trees.

A herd of buffalo. Can you imagine what the plains might look like with thousands
& thousands of these guys populating them?

Can't believe it was pouring an hour ago! We stopped for a soda just before the rain &
decided to have dinner while we waited for the storm to blow thru.
