Day 44 - Jamestown, ND to Tower City, ND - 52 miles ......... 1842 total miles
This morning the wind was light from the east and the temperature was comfortable. Another good day. Even on the freeway the services are few and far between. North Dakota ranks 48th in population of the states. It's VERY rural. 90% of North Dakota's total land area is farms and ranches. The major crops are corn, wheat, soybeans, canola, barley and sunflowers. We saw Roxy's brother, Rollie from Minot, on the other side of the freeway today. He's hauling a trailer to Seattle. No place to stop, he honked, we waved and then gave him a call when we found a safe spot to pull over. Tonight we're staying at the Tower City Inn B&B. The house was built in 1904 by William Clark who owned a lumber company. Joanne & Duane have restored the home and opened the B&B in 1991. It's beautiful inside and out! We're relaxing this evening out on the porch. Joanne also runs a catering business. We're enjoying tasty baked goods and looking forward to breakfast in the morning!

Roxy's a happy camper with her purchase from the Dollar store, earbuds. Now she can rock out to Melissa (Etheridge) and block out the wind & traffic noise.

We've ridden past miles of corn fields. This corn looks healthy.
