1st Lisbon Portugal
Sailed in to the deep harbor of Lisbon---went under this huge bridge Labor
Holiday so no shops open. Took "hop on, hop off" double decker bus
to see the town....very very old parts with of course huge modern buildings
interspersed. Weather nice today sunny & fairly warm--long sleeve T-shirt
& short pants. Not much time in port today for whatever ship's reason
so after our cruise around town & port area we walked around town &
had late lunch. I had grilled octopus & T had veal. I tasted local batch
of sangria which was ok---too many spices for my taste. I'll stick to Chianti.
One thing I didn't know about Portugal--it was neutral during WWII. Wonderful
city but too short a time to do much which is frustrating.
