Santa Margherita Ligure---Italian Riviera. Friday. 4-24-15
We anchored
(ship takes you to port in their little orange boats--called tenders) today-Friday
4-24 in Santa Margherita Ligure---sweet seacoast town next to Portofino &
hour south of Genoa. Toni's in the Zunino family's territory. We spent the
day touring other small hillside towns along this Italian Riviera ---Cinque
Terra---5 towns--we could only reach 3 because of the steep cliffs and narrow
roads. Wonderfully quiet places to enjoy after the shock of Rome & all
its craziness. Weather once again sunny & warm--68-70. Spring has sprung
& flowers blooming everywhere---esp wisteria. Lunch in one hillside town---Monterossa----then
boat to next town, then train back to get bus back to port. Dinner in town
at a dockside restaurant we visited 14 years ago when we were here!! What
a kick to be there again & food still fabulous. Long long day but happy
happy girls are we. We have our towel baby back--see pic of Mr Monkey. Our
cabin guy Heri (Harry) made it for us.
