We did some backtracking today, back to Pine Creek and then north on the Stuart Highway. Litchfield National Park was our destination. It's our last night on the road with the campervan.

We saw several buffalo along the road, some wallabies too. The wallabies didn’t pose for us.
---

This was a touristy stop at the 303 bar in Adelaide River. Charlie, the buffalo, was in Crocodile Dundee. Rumor has it his legs were shortened to fit in this spot.

Jock the croc was also on display. He’s 5 meters long!
---

Most all the roads we traveled had signs of fuel reduction (controlled burns). This was one of the few active burns.
---

Litchfield National Park has several waterfalls, hikes and some swimming spots. This is Wangi Falls.
---

We hiked up around the top of the falls and back down. The vegetation was thick, monsoon rainforest.

Tolmer Falls overlook.
---

Bully Rockhole was a series of swimming holes.
---

There are numerous gigantic termite mounds near the entry of the park. The mounds are oriented north to south. This controls temperature throughout the day, exposing the least surface area to the sun. Many of the mounds are 2 meters high, this one is 5 meters!
---

We looked close at one of the large mounds, and saw hundreds of termites at work. Eeew, not many wood houses here!
