Most of the day was spent driving to Kakadu National Park, a cultural landscape shaped by the spiritual ancestors of the Bininji/Mungguy people. Our destination was Cooinda Lodge for a sunset Yellow Water Cruise.

We crossed many freshwater streams. Every one had a crocodile safety warning sign.

Loading up for the cruise on the Yellow Water Billabong and South Alligator River.

We saw lots of birds.
---

And saltwater crocodiles.
---

We were quite close to some of the salties.
---

Definitely wanted hands inside the boat!

These whistling ducks were covering the river banks. They could take off and land vertically. They did whistle and didn’t like water.
---

This is a sea eagle.
---

We watched the sunset out on the water before motoring back to the dock.
---

We saw one last croc heading in. This one was huge!
