This was a long driving day with one small town, Hall's Creek population 1,700, where we made a brief stop to gas up and have a bite to eat. The traffic was light, more termite mounds & roadkill than cars. It was quite scenic, rolling hills, mountain ranges, grassland and dry creeks. We left Fitzroy Crossing early and made it Kununurra by mid afternoon.

We saw a lot of Rock Wallabies leaving the caravan park in Fitzroy Crossing.

Not much traffic, this was our view for miles & miles & miles!

Fortunately this road train pulled over at the petrol stop in Hall’s Creek just as we were ready to head off. We didn’t have to pass. Our campervan is like a tank, not great acceleration!
---

A horse wandered across the road in front of us. We’ve seen lots of cows, but not many horses. There is a large cattle industry in this part of Western Australia, most of it exported to SE Asia.
---

We drove over many one lane bridges, most of the creeks were dry. It’s the dry season, hard to imagine the wet!
---

The services are signed 5km ahead. This roadhouse and Hall’s creek were the only services on our 600 km drive between FitzRoy Crossing and Kununurra.

We did stop at Doon Doon Roadhouse for a break.

This is a frangipani bush that could grown into a tree. It’s just at the entrance of the caravanpark we're staying at in Kununurra.
---

This is some serious vegetation. We were walking around Kununurra looking for an open restaurant. The cafes close between 1:30 & 2pm. Restaurants don’t open for dinner until 5pm, no early bird specials here! You can get something to drink between those hours.

The campervan park overlooked Lake Kununurra.
