Day 38 - Dickinson, ND to Glen Ullin, ND - 52 miles ...... 1624 total miles
Woke up rested hoping for a tailwind, not today! We rode almost all day on secondary roads, old highway 10 and ND-139, not much traffic and very scenic. We had lots of time to absorb the scenery as we were grinding into a steady headwind. We saw 2 groups of touring cyclists, 3 folks going our way to Boston and 2 guys enjoying the tailwind riding from Portland, ME to Portland, OR. We stopped in Richardton at Clara's Cafe for lunch and a break from the wind. Great soup and friendly folks! After lunch we pedaled an hour or so and met Roxy's brother Bob along the road. He's hauling a trailer from Indiana to Kelowna, BC. Great to see him again, he had cold sodas for us! A welcome treat in rural North Dakota farm country. The guys riding west said the wind is supposed to switch tomorrow, we're hoping so!

This is this link to the blog post, it's from the Laurel Outlook, the local newspaper in Laurel, MT, a small town west of Billings. It comes out once a week and we were interviewed while taking a break outside the chamber of commerce.

Lots of wide open space along the secondary roads in North Dakota.

Curious friends along the road. That little fence wasn't very reassuring as they
got the idea I may have some food for them!
