QUEEN VALLEY GOLF COURSE
Notice to Players- Local Rules

USGA Rules of Golf govern all play in conjunction with the following local rules:
... 1. Out of bounds: Indicated by white stakes and/or boundary walls and fences. All roads (except road between the tee boxes on #17) including the dirt road left of #15 are out of bounds. The boundary is the course side edge of the maintained road surface. The maintenance facility, clubhouse, parking lots, practice green, and hitting nets are out of bounds.
... 2. There is NO free relief from any boundary features.
... 3. Out of bounds relief: a) Stroke and distance. Replay from spot where previous shot was played. One stroke penalty. Or b) drop a ball in the general area at the point where the ball last crossed the boundary, no closer to the hole. Two stroke penalty.
... 4. Penalty areas: Marked by red stakes and/or lines. Relief options all with a one stroke penalty. a) Stroke and distance. b) Back on the line between the flag and where the ball last crossed the red boundary. c) Drop within two club lengths, no closer to the hole from where the ball last crossed the red boundary. The ball may be played from within the penalty area with no penalty.
... 5. There are no yellow marked penalty areas on the course.
... 6. Sand bunkers: There are no sand bunkers on the course
... 7. Cart paths: are immovable obstructions. Relief options: a) Play the ball as it lies b) Drop within one club length of complete relief, no closer to the hole. No Penalty
... 8. The bridge on #8 is considered an immovable obstruction part of the cart path. Same relief with option to use drop zone.
... 9. No play zones: Mandatory relief, no penalty.
... ... ... a) Cactus garden left of #1 fairway, use drop zone.
... ... ... b) Cactus garden left of #9 green, use drop zone.
... ... ... c) Queen Valley Water Department equipment behind #7 green. Marked with blue paint, use drop zone or nearest point in general area no closer to the hole.
... 10. Protective nets: are immovable obstructions, free relief for interference with stance, swing, or lie. In addition, this local rule recognizes "line of sight" interference if the obstruction prevents the play of a "normal" shot from the general area. Relief is use drop zone or nearest point of complete relief no closer to the hole.
... 11. Preferred lies: If the committee (or pro shop staff) deems "winter rules" to be appropriate the following applies: A ball at rest in the general area that is overseeded may be marked, picked up, cleaned, and replaced within one club length of its original spot, no closer to the hole.
... 12. Friendly reminders- Course etiquette
... ... ... a. Pace of play: Your groups' proper position is directly behind the group in front of you, not directly in front of the group behind you.

... ... ... b. Keep carts on paths where possible. Use 90 degree rule when crossing turfed areas.
... ... ... c. Please sand fill divots and repair ball marks on the greens.
