We are now in Franconia area which is Northern Bavaria. People very proud of their areas and they have distinct wines & beers to prove it. Bamberg another medieval town with wonderful steeples, sweet alleyways that make you want to walk forever. Bamberg has a special beer that is called "smoke" beer---Schlenkerla. Tastes like bacon is in it. Yuk...stick with Riesling! Because it was Sunday the shops were closed but all the restaurants & beer halls were doing a bang up business. The weather today was exceptional--sunny & warm. 72 degrees. Everything looks better when the sun is out!
